leading fly fishing! help!?

ok i just got my fishing rod in the mail. I'm new to fly fishing and I realized the line connecting thick yellow line there is a clear 7ft (leader) I live in the northeast and I'll fly fishing in the Delaware and other trout streams. I wondered if I SNIP / seat or cutting the leader of a given length? my pole is 8 feet long with 6 pounds of string or something? I need help please!

nope want a leader long is the barrier between iinvisible fly aka the yellow line and fly line, but if you are fishing small rivers faster than using an ID leader from 7 to 7.5 m of lakes and rivers larger than I would use a 9 foot, and if you can find some guys like 10 feet or 12 for lakes but dont need
