Bass Fly
What are some good tips for a long time low fishermen starting to fly fish for trout?

I've been a fisherman long time tournament for black bass. But beginning (as of last week), fly fishing for trout, casting is good, but it seems that is something that always needed improvements. Would like some advice on books, vids, what flies to use when, etc.. I live in MT and have access to great fishing, so any track to a good place Beginners would be a plus, and let me know if you want to go fishing!

The Internet is full of resources. Coming from a bass background, can find the closest and most forgiving set of flies to use are like bugs wool streamers and nymphs and dry clousers because they need more experience to drift without drag. Can use a 4X tippet and heavy as a tie in a slightly weighted uncle, then work just as would a jerk bait, jig or plastic worm – Up or down by all of them work. Try online strip at different speeds, or just let fly in the current hang when it gets down and slowly pulls back. Use a short leader and tippet of no more than 8 feet to get comfortable. Even 6 feet can fish if you have trouble getting the cast out with a long leader. Pay special attention to areas under rifles and is hard to go wrong. Use these larger water if you can (2 feet deep you're in great serpentine water), then once who feel more comfortable with a fly rod cast can connect to a fishing buddy to show you how to drift a dry fly. At that time, you only need to brake the mold and see how other fish – there is little substitute for direct observation. The nymphs are probably the most difficult because if you use an indicator will one more knots at first, and without that you really have to be familiar with the submission of blind, drag-free drift.
