Patagonia's philosophy has always been based on the mission statement, "To the best products, no unnecessary harm." This principle is visibly apparent in the line of Patagonia footwear. In order to minimize their impact on the environment, Patagonia has clean manufacturing processes. A large percentage of the materials that make up each Patagonia Footwear (including rubber, polyester, and EVA materials) are recycled. Dual-density compression-Template molded EVA / midsole provides cushioning and comfort with support in the right places, water removable for cleaning or custom footbeds. solvent-based and stitched sole to reduce the need for hard rubber products and chemical adhesives while adding durability. Some footwear styles of Patagonia using natural Hevea latex, that is extracted using a process which benefits the trees, allowing space for the production of fresh milk and results in a sustainable material. Curing Hevea milk creates a microstructure with thousands of tiny air bubbles, completely natural, elastic cushion. Patagonia requires working tanneries are fully compatible with current business practices and environmental standards, such as treatment of its water to U.S. standards and the use of steam and solar power to displace the consumption of fuel. They also offer a line of vegan friendly shoes that are made without using any animal products. The superior comfort and production practices environmentally sound make this a shoe that you can really feel good about using.
