Any person attempting to use an ultralight rod combo, if so, how do you like?
I just built
Platform more lighter than I've ever used is a 4-weight. I can not seem to boom drives out so far with him – even with a double – as I can with heavy equipment, so it's best for the small streams, and requires more stealth to approach wary trout. It requires more contact with the ground hooked a fish, too, as you are using more clear everything. But I agree – easier on the arm, and a much more intimate feeling to action. I have seen some types of fishing platforms lighter (~ 2-weight?) On my favorite stream here in Maryland, but never tried it myself. Where are you using yours?
