Cahill Fly
Flags have been in use more than 4000 years. But they have always been used for the same purpose, give other information.
King Arthur's Knights Round Table used to wear flags on their horses and armor so that others in turn, could say who they were. The Jolly Roger was a symbol of piracy and Trail by pirates off the top of their ships to scare people out the meaning of "No Mercy will be shown to those who resist." Also, more recently, the Olympic flag represent the five continents come together in friendly competition with the white symbol of peace.
So in the past, flags have played an important role in society, which is also the case today. Every nation has a flag, whose colors are related to the country history, for example, oranges in the Dutch flag, representing the Orange Order who previously ruled the country. National flags are used to represent each country during the conflict, sporting events, conferences and events, but also give individuals the opportunity to show their patriotism flying the flag of his nation. This is particularly evident in England when a major football event is happening, most people who are supporters football to fly the flag of St George, to show they are behind the English football team.
Clubs and organizations have their own flags also, for example, the Boy Scouts, and all have special meaning, but are nevertheless there for symbolic reasons. So why do I feel that it is so necessary to expose these indicators when we feel a little patriotic? Or because they have used for many years, have become a part of our heritage and are a symbol of individuality, which will continue for thousands of years into the future.
